Bookings and Cancellations

Please read the following terms and conditions closely before using our website. Any use of the www.vakkarumaldives.com website, for the purposes of travel arrangements and accommodation, confirms that the guests are aged 18 or above and that guests have read and fully accept these terms and conditions. The resort may revise these Terms and Conditions from time to time by updating this posting. These terms and conditions are devised for the protection of all parties.

A valid credit card guarantee is required at the time of booking and a reservation will be deemed confirmed after processing all deposits and payments according to the below terms. The resort reserves the right to release bookings without prior notice if full payment is not received on time.

Confirmation is also subject to receiving all guest names, particularly for multiple-room bookings.

For travel from 11 January 2026 to 20 April 2026 & 1 October 2026 to 23 December 2026:

• Cancellations that are made 21 days or less prior to arrival will incur a cancellation fee of 100% of the total Villa charges.

• Reservations made within 21 days of arrival require full payment within 24 hours and will incur a fee of 100% of the total Villa charges.

For travel from 21 April 2026 to 30 September 2026:

• Cancellations that are made 14 days or less prior to arrival will incur a cancellation fee of 100% of the total Villa charges.

• Reservations made within 14 days of arrival require full payment within 24 hours and will incur a fee of 100% of the total Villa charges.

For travel in the Festive Season, 24 December 2026 to 10 January 2027:

• Cancellations that are made 60 days or less prior to arrival will incur a cancellation fee of 100% of the total Villa charges.

• Reservations made within 90 days of arrival require full payment within 24 hours of placing the booking. All bookings made for the festive period will incur a 50% non-refundable deposit at the time of making the booking.

A fee equivalent to 100% per night plus taxes for early departures applies. In the event of a no-show (i.e. if you neither use nor cancel your reservation), a fee equivalent to the value of the entire stay plus taxes and transfers will be incurred.

Early departures or cancellations due to inclement weather are fully chargeable.

Seaplane transfers from Velana International Airport to Vakkaru Maldives will be arranged in accordance with guests’ arrival and departure flight times. Upon arrival at the airport, guests will be met by our airport representative holding a Vakkaru Maldives sign board. Our team will take care of the luggage and escort the guests to the Vakkaru Maldives private lounge. The lounge serves light drinks and snacks and offers complimentary WIFI.

Seaplane transfers operate only during daylight hours. In order to meet these timelines, guests’ outbound flights must arrive in the Maldives between 6:00 am and 3:30 pm.

Standard Transfer Times:

International departure flights should be scheduled after 9:00 am to guarantee a same-day departure. Guests arriving in Male after 3:30 pm may be transferred only via domestic transfers. In order to arrange this transfer, the resort would require the flight arrival time to the Maldives, flight number, and full names of all guests as in their passports by no later than 96 hours before arrival.

• All transfers are subject to tides, weather conditions, and Seaplane company’s terms & conditions.

• Vakkaru Maldives is not responsible for any cancellation or delay of flight operation. Seaplane charges will be non-refundable.

• Vakkaru Maldives will strive to assist in arranging alternative overnight accommodation in Male', including re-scheduling and reconfirming transfer times for the following day (subject to availability).

• Children under 2 years old are travelling on complimentary basis, sitting on an adult’s lap.

• Passengers aged 12 years old and above will be considered as adults.

• Each guest can carry 20kg of checked-in luggage and 5kg of hand luggage. Any excess luggage is chargeable at 6 USD per kg per way excluding tax (subject to change without prior notice).

• Departure timings are set up by Seaplane company and can be subject to change without prior notice. Vakkaru Maldives cannot be held responsible for any delays or cancellations due to the local seaplane carrier.

• Cancellation of seaplane transfers on the day of arrival (other than for airline changes outside of the guest’s control) or in the event of a no-show will incur a 100% cancellation fee on the one-way seaplane transfer charge.

Adults: $960

Children: $480

Infants (0 - 1.99 years): Complimentary

The resort’s check-in time is at 2.00 pm and check-out time is 12.00pm. Late check-out is subject to availability and extra charges may apply.

Green Tax: Increased from USD 6 to USD 12 per person per night, effective 01 January 2025

Tourism Goods and Services Tax (TGST): Increased from 16% to 17%, effective 01 July 2025

All incidental charges and additional consumption incurred at the resort for stays will reflect the TGST rates of 17%.

If you are unable to travel (or utilize the accommodation and services previously confirmed), cancellation fees may apply.

A change in the length of stay or dates of your reservation is subject to availability and may result in a rate change. A revision made to a booking may also constitute a cancellation. In case of a shortened length of stay, the cancellation policy will apply for the canceled nights. If a booking deposit must be refunded, please note that any credit card surcharge or currency fluctuation is unable to be refunded.
