User Agreement
Please read the following Terms and Conditions carefully before using our website. By accessing www.vakkarumaldives.com to make travel arrangements or accommodation bookings, you confirm that you are 18 years of age or older and that you accept these Terms & Conditions.
Vakkaru Maldives reserves the right to update these terms periodically. These conditions are designed to ensure clarity and fairness for all parties.
Booking Conditions
Rates are subject to applicable taxes, including Goods and Services Tax (GST), Green Tax, and a 10% service charge.
The maximum number of guests permitted depends on the room category as stated on this website. Supplement charges apply for additional guests. Extra beds and baby cots are subject to availability.
Guarantee Policy
A valid credit card guarantee is required at the time of booking. Reservations will be confirmed once deposits and payments have been processed according to the payment terms outlined below.
The resort reserves the right to release bookings without prior notice if payment is not received within the required timeframe.
Confirmation also depends on receiving all guest names, particularly for bookings involving multiple rooms.
Additional deposit and payment terms apply as follows.
2026
For travel until 22 December 2026:
- Full and final payment is required no later than 30 days prior to arrival.
For travel during the Festive Season, 23 December 2026 to 10 January 2027:
- A 50% non-refundable deposit of total room charges will be collected at the time of booking.
- Full and final payment is required 90 days prior to arrival.
Cancellation Policy
If you are unable to travel or use the accommodation and services previously confirmed, cancellation fees may apply.
Changes to the length of stay or reservation dates are subject to availability and may result in rate adjustments. Any revision to an existing booking may be treated as a cancellation.
For shortened stays, the cancellation policy will apply to any unused nights.
If a deposit is refundable, please note that credit card surcharges or currency fluctuations are non-refundable.
Cancellation, early departure and no-show fees are the sole responsibility of the guest and will be charged as follows.
2026
For travel until 22 December 2026:
- Cancellations made 30 days or less prior to arrival will incur a cancellation fee of 100% of the total villa charges.
- Reservations made within 30 days of arrival require full payment within 24 hours and will incur a 100% charge.
For travel during the Festive Season, 23 December 2026 to 10 January 2027::
- Cancellations made 60 days or less prior to arrival will incur a 100% cancellation fee.
- Reservations made within 60 days of arrival require full payment within 24 hours of placing the booking.
- All festive bookings require a 25% non-refundable deposit at the time of booking.
2027
For travel 11 January 2027 to 28 April 2027 and 1 October 2027 to 20 December 2027:
- Cancellations made 30 days or less prior to arrival will incur a 100% cancellation fee.
- Reservations made within 30 days of arrival require full payment within 24 hours.
For travel from 28 April 2027 to 30 September 2027:
- Cancellations made 14 days or less prior to arrival will incur a 100% cancellation fee.
- Reservations made within 14 days of arrival require full payment within 24 hours.
For Festive Season travel, XX December 2027 to XX January 2028:
- Cancellations made 30 days or less prior to arrival will incur a 100% cancellation fee.
- Reservations made within 90 days of arrival require full payment within 24 hours.
- A 50% non-refundable deposit is required at the time of booking.
Early Departures or No-Shows
A charge of 100% per night plus applicable taxes will apply to early departures.
In the event of a no-show (when a reservation is neither used nor cancelled), the full value of the stay plus taxes and transfers will be charged.
Please note: early departures or cancellations due to inclement weather are fully chargeable.
Transfers
Seaplane transfers from Velana International Airport to Vakkaru Maldives are arranged in line with guests’ international arrival and departure flight times. Upon arrival, guests will be welcomed by our airport representative holding a Vakkaru Maldives signboard. Our team will assist with luggage and escort guests to the Vakkaru Maldives private lounge, where light refreshments and complimentary Wi-Fi are available.
Seaplane transfers operate during daylight hours only. To meet this schedule, inbound flights must arrive in the Maldives between 6.00am and 3.30pm.
Standard Transfer Times
International departure flights should be scheduled for 9.00am or later to guarantee a same-day transfer. Guests arriving in Malé after 3.30pm may only be transferred via domestic flight. To arrange this, the resort requires guests’ arrival time into the Maldives, flight number and full names as per passport no later than 96 hours prior to arrival.
- All transfers are subject to weather, tide conditions and the seaplane company’s terms and conditions.
- Vakkaru Maldives is not responsible for delays or cancellations in flight operations. Seaplane transfer charges are non-refundable. However, our team will assist with arranging alternative overnight accommodation in Malé and rescheduling transfers for the following day, subject to availability.
- Infants under 2 years of age travel free of charge, seated on an adult’s lap. Passengers aged 12 years and above are considered adults.
- Baggage allowance is 20kg of checked luggage and 5kg of hand luggage per person. Excess luggage is chargeable at USD 6 per kg per way, excluding tax, and is subject to change without prior notice.
- Departure timings are set by the seaplane operator and may change without prior notice. Vakkaru Maldives cannot be held responsible for delays or cancellations by the local carrier.
- Cancellation of seaplane transfers on the day of arrival, except in the case of airline delays beyond the guest’s control, or a no-show, will incur a 100% cancellation fee for the one-way transfer.
Seaplane / Domestic Round-Trip Transfer Rates
Adults: $950
Children (2–11.99 years): USD 475
Infants (0–1.99 years): ComplimentaryCancellation of seaplane transfers on the day of arrival, except in the case of airline delays beyond the guest’s control, or a no-show, will incur a 100% cancellation fee for the one-way transfer.
Check-in and Check-out Time
Check-in time is 2.00pm and check-out time is 12.00 noon.
Late check-out is subject to availability and may incur additional charges.
Maldives Taxes
Green Tax: USD 12 per person per night5
Tourism Goods and Services Tax (TGST): 17%
All charges incurred at the resort are subject to applicable service charge and government taxes in effect during the guest’s stay.
